Ayurveda Mini Course

Day 1: The Doshas

I'm excited to bring you Part 1 of a life-changing FREE series designed to teach you your unique core constitution, known as your dosha type.  By understanding your unique combination of doshas and creating a lifestyle that keeps your doshas in balance, you’ll enjoy a healthier and happier life.

First, let's define Ayurveda

In English, Ayurveda is translated as "the science of life."

Thousands of years before modern medicine provided scientific evidence for the mind-body connection, the sages of India developed Ayurveda, which continues to be one of the world’s most sophisticated and effective total health systems—highlighting the symbiotic nature of our physical health and our emotions, stresses, and the state of our relationships.

The science of life helps us understand that health is a byproduct of enlightened living. It teaches us how to live in a way that fosters good health. It gently guides us to be part of our own healing process.

The most powerful tool we have for healing is our own body, mind, and spirit. The Ayurvedic practices in my online Ayurveda Health Enrichment Course empower the inherent healing power within all of us.

Ancient wisdom + modern living = your personalized roadmap to well-being

Ayurveda is personalized lifestyle medicine.

It gives you the knowledge and tools to create a healthy, happy life while realizing your full human potential.

In order to be truly healthy, we can't just take care of our physical body—we need to address the health of our mind, body, spirit, and environment so that we can experience a state of wholeness.

Ayurveda focuses on the unique qualities of the individual—how we each respond to different foods, exercise programs, and other activities and experiences.

Instead, every health-related measure is based on an individual’s unique dosha combination (dosha type)—and the lifestyle choices best suited for it.

"Doshas" are the three energies that define every person's makeup. How the three doshas appear, and in what proportion, is what makes each person unique.

Knowing your dosha-type can help you live a healthier, more balanced life, which you'll discover in this course.

Watch the video below to learn more about the Doshas.

Everybody, and every body,
is different.

Your unique mind-body type is expressed as your dosha constitution.

There are three mind-body energies—or doshas:

  • Vata which represents movement and the qualities of space and air.
  • Pitta which represents transformation and the qualities of fire and water.
  • Kapha which represents structure and the qualities of water and earth.

Each dosha is derived from the building blocks of nature—the five elements of space, air, fire, water, and earth—and represents a unique blend of physical, emotional, and mental characteristics inherent in every person.

Everyone has all three doshas—but the amount of each we're born with varies. The blend of doshas is what makes up each person's individual dosha type.

The Goal of Ayurveda

The goal of Ayurveda is to create balance in all aspects of our lives.

The key to vibrant health is knowing your unique dosha type.  From there, Ayurveda has the personalized tools you need in order to keep your mind, emotions, body, and overall health in balance.

The choices we make every day affect the physical experience of the body and the mental experience in the mind—including decisions about what to eat, how we relate interpersonally, and even how we establish our daily routines.

Ayurveda will teach you what choices and routines you should make in order to find your most peaceful mind and healthiest body.

That's it for today!
